Lower-elevation extended cooling season (98-106°F)
Chino sits at 715 ft, the lowest elevation in our IE dispatch zone after Jurupa Valley. Summer afternoons regularly hit 98-106°F and the cooling season runs from early May through late October. AC systems run more cumulative cycles per year than foothill IE cities, accelerating capacitor and compressor wear.
Agricultural-history dust loads
South and west Chino still have working dairy preserve land and agricultural fields. Outdoor air carries heavier fine particulate than central IE cities. 1-inch filters load up faster — 4-inch MERV 13 media filter cabinets are the right fit for properties near the preserve.
Older central Chino R-22 systems
Pre-1980 central Chino homes (along Central Ave, Riverside Dr, and Schaefer Ave) frequently still run R-22 systems from the 1990s. 20+ year systems with major leaks typically point toward A2L (R-454B) replacement with SCE rebate paperwork.
The Preserve at Chino multi-zone homes
Newer master-planned The Preserve at Chino and College Park developments (post-2010) often have 4-5 ton multi-zone systems with zone control boards and damper actuators. Multi-zone diagnosis is a separate skill from single-system AC repair. We handle it.
