No heat tonight?

Five checks before you call.

The first cold night is when furnaces that sat all summer refuse to start. Run these in order. If none of them clears it, call 760-983-2326 and we will dispatch, same flat rate day or night.

Thermostat. Set it to HEAT, not COOL or AUTO, at least 3 degrees above room temperature. Blank or dim display? Replace the batteries.

Power. Find the light-switch-style furnace switch near the unit and make sure it is on, then check the breaker. If the breaker trips again right away, leave it off and call.

Filter and front panel. A caked filter overheats the furnace and trips the high-limit. Swap it, then reseat the front panel firmly, since a loose panel opens the door safety switch.

Gas or propane. The gas valve handle should run parallel to the pipe. Propane homes in Phelan, Wrightwood, Oak Hills, and Lucerne Valley: check the tank gauge. Smell gas? Stop and get out.

One reset. Switch the furnace off for 30 seconds and back on to clear a lockout. If it starts and locks out again, do not keep resetting it. Count the blinking light code and tell us when you call.

No cooling: close blinds on sun-facing windows, run ceiling fans, hydrate, and stay on the lowest floor of the home if possible.
No heat: close doors to unused rooms, use space heaters in occupied rooms, dress in layers, and check that your thermostat is on "heat" not "cool."
Suspected gas leak: evacuate the home, leave doors open, do not use light switches or any electrical equipment, and call your gas utility from outside: Southwest Gas 877-860-6020 in the Victor Valley, SoCalGas 1-800-427-2200 in its areas, or your propane supplier.
Carbon monoxide alarm: evacuate the home and call us. Do not attempt to silence or reset the alarm before we arrive.

Is no heat an HVAC emergency?

If it will drop below freezing overnight and there are infants, older family members, or anyone with a medical condition in the house, yes, call now. Otherwise run the five checks on this page first. A lot of no-heat calls turn out to be a thermostat battery, a tripped breaker, or a clogged filter, and you can fix those yourself in minutes.

My furnace is running but blowing cold air. Is that an emergency?

Usually not a safety emergency, but it will not fix itself. If the blower runs and the air is cold, the furnace has power and the problem is on the ignition or gas side: igniter, flame sensor, gas supply, or a lockout. What counts as an HVAC emergency?

No heat in winter. No cooling above 95°F outside. Suspected gas leak. Refrigerant leak. Burning smells from the furnace. Carbon monoxide alarm. Anything where waiting is a safety or property risk.

Do you charge more for after-hours service?

No. Same flat-rate pricing nights and weekends. We do not penalize you for the AC failing on a Saturday in July.

How fast do you actually get there?

Same-day in most cases across the High Desert. Most after-hours dispatches are on-site within 2-3 hours from Hesperia, Apple Valley, Oak Hills, and Victorville. Wrightwood and Lucerne Valley may run 3-4 hours due to drive distance.

What is the response time in my city?

Hesperia, Apple Valley, and Oak Hills typically run 1-2 hours after-hours. Victorville, Adelanto, Phelan, Helendale, and Oro Grande run 2-3 hours. Wrightwood and Lucerne Valley run 3-4 hours due to mountain or desert drive distance. Daytime calls are usually faster.

What if it is not really an emergency?

We will be honest. If your problem can wait until morning safely, we will tell you so you do not pay for an after-hours visit you do not need.

Do you charge for the diagnostic if I do not approve the repair?

There is a flat diagnostic fee on emergency visits. If you approve the repair, the diagnostic fee is waived and rolled into the repair cost. If you decline the repair, you only pay the diagnostic.

Can you walk me through it on the phone first?

Yes. Call 760-983-2326 and we will troubleshoot the obvious things over the phone before dispatching a truck. Sometimes a tripped breaker or a dirty filter is the whole problem and you do not need a visit.

Do you handle commercial emergencies?

Yes. Restaurant make-up air, retail rooftop units, walk-in cooler heating. Same flat-rate after-hours pricing as residential. Our commercial team is on the same dispatch line.

Do you work on holidays?

Yes. Christmas, Thanksgiving, Fourth of July. Same-day dispatch, same flat rate. HVAC failures do not respect the calendar and neither do we.
