HVAC in San Bernardino.

San Bernardino is the closest Inland Empire city to our Hesperia office — 30 minutes down I-15. The work mix here skews replacement-heavy: heavy concentration of 1950s-1990s housing in Arrowhead, North Park, and the Highland Ave corridor means original-or-first-replacement furnaces and R-22 AC systems are still common. SCE territory citywide so rebate paperwork stays consistent.

Why JCE in San Bernardino

Local crew.
local response.

San Bernardino is the closest of our Inland Empire cities, about 30 minutes from our Hesperia office. Owner-operated by the same JCE crew, no third-party subs and no separate IE dispatch. SCE territory citywide so rebate paperwork is straightforward. Older housing stock means more replacement work than new construction, and we have the parts and refrigerant on every truck to handle that mix.

Common Inland Empire issues

Built for our climate.

Older housing stock, more replacements

San Bernardino has a high concentration of homes built 1950-1990. Many are running original or first-replacement HVAC at this point. R-22 refrigerant systems are still common, and 80% AFUE furnaces from the 1990s are entering replacement age.

Hot summer afternoons (95-105°F)

San Bernardino summer afternoons regularly hit 95-105°F across June-September. Cooling season runs roughly May-October. Capacitor failures dominate AC repair calls during the July-August peak.

Mild winters, lighter heat use

Winter overnight lows mostly stay in the 35-45°F range. Furnaces run nightly through the cold months but accumulate fewer heating hours than higher elevations. Heat pumps work well here year-round.

SCE rebate territory

All of San Bernardino is in SCE service area for electric. Heat pump and high-SEER AC replacements qualify for current SCE rebates ($300-$1,500 depending on tier). We pull the rebate sheet at quote time.

Where in San Bernardino

Every corner of the city.

  • North End / Verdemont

Newer 1990s-2010s tract builds with full HVAC standard. SCE + SoCalGas. Cleaner installs, fewer ductwork issues than older neighborhoods.

  • Arrowhead / North Park

Historic neighborhoods near foothills. Older homes (pre-1970), undersized ducts and aging R-22 systems common.

  • Central / Downtown

Mix of older single-family and converted multi-family. Heavier duct retrofit and indoor air quality work.

  • Highland Ave corridor

Tract neighborhoods built 1970s-1990s. Replacement-age splits, capacitor failures dominant during summer peak.

AC went out Monday. Called JC Energy Solutions and spoke with someone right away. They scheduled me for first thing the next day. The techs were on time, friendly, and professional. They diagnosed and repaired the issue fairly quickly without any problems. Unfortunately, the next day, an identical issue represented itself. Although the issue looked the same, it was a different cause. As someone who’s worked in auto repair, home improvement, and customer service in general, I know these things can happen. What sets JCES apart is how they handle them. They were empathetic and apologetic that there was still an issue. They got one of their top guys to come back out first thing the next day and gave a credit for missing one of the causes. They replaced the part no problem and double checked everything was good to go. If you need responsive, professional, friendly, and great value service, I 10/10 recommend JCES!

Last thing anyone wants is the AC to go out in July/August. Start to finish, amazing service. Initial phone and schedule completed quickly, they even got me in first thing the next day. Techs were on time, professional, diagnosed the issue quickly, and we’re able to fix it right away. Appreciation for a well run and friendly family business!

Our air conditioning unit went out in the middle of this heat wave. We were able to get a quote right away. My husband has health problems and they were amazing ordering a new unit and getting it installed. Joseph and his team worked so well, so efficiently and also went above and beyond to get everything installed. Great pricing also. We definitely will support them and recommend them.

This is how a company should be ran. From customer service(phone call) when I set an appointment up to the gentleman who came out to service my mini split system. I can't thank them enough for how easy and quickly it was to get everything done. Will be calling them again soon. Everyone who is waiting 3 to 4 weeks for service should really give them a call.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fast can you get to San Bernardino from Hesperia?
About 30 minutes from our Main Street Hesperia office down I-15. Same-day in most cases. After-hours and 24/7 emergency dispatch available. Call 760-983-2326.
Do you really service San Bernardino?
Yes. San Bernardino is part of our Inland Empire dispatch zone — about 30 minutes from our Hesperia office down I-15. Same techs, same rates, no travel premium.
My older San Bernardino home has an R-22 system. Should I repair or replace?
Depends on system age and repair scope. Minor leaks under $300 of reclaimed R-22 usually make sense to recharge. Major leaks on 15+ year systems usually point toward A2L (R-454B) replacement that qualifies for SCE rebates. We will lay out both paths with honest numbers.
My San Bernardino home has small ducts. Can you fix that?
Yes. Older central and Arrowhead-area homes often have undersized return ducts that strangle modern variable-speed blowers. We measure return static pressure on every diagnostic and quote duct upsizing as a separate line item.
What rebates apply for new HVAC in San Bernardino?
SCE heat pump and AC rebates ($300-$1,500 depending on tier). SoCalGas tankless and high-efficiency furnace rebates. Federal IRA tax credits expired Dec 31, 2025. We pull current rebate sheets at quote time.
Do you do commercial HVAC in San Bernardino?
Yes. Rooftop units up to 12.5 tons, restaurant make-up air, retail strip mall, light commercial offices. Same Hesperia dispatch. Commercial details.
How much does HVAC service cost in San Bernardino?
Standard rates, no travel premium. AC repair: $150-$850. Furnace repair: $150-$650. New AC install: $5,500-$16,000. New furnace install: $3,200-$7,800. Heat pump install: $4,500-$11,000. Full service details.
Are you BBB accredited?
Yes. JC Energy Solutions Inc. is BBB Accredited with an A+ rating. CSLB License #998538.
