Silver Lakes replacement-age systems

Silver Lakes was built in waves from the 1980s through early 2000s. Many original AC and furnace systems are now 25-40 years old, well past replacement age. R-22 systems still common. We diagnose, then quote either reclaimed-R-22 service or full A2L-compliant replacement with rebate paperwork pulled.

The Cemex cement plant on Route 66 generates fine particulate that settles on outdoor coils within a few miles. Coils load up faster than typical HD homes. We spec coil cleaning every 6 months instead of annually for properties within 2 miles of the plant.

Mostly propane outside Silver Lakes

SoCalGas serves the Silver Lakes planned community. Rural Helendale, Oro Grande proper, and outlying lots are largely propane. Equipment, orifices, and gas line sizing differ from natural gas. We are equipped for both fuel types.

Long line-set runs on rural Mojave River lots

Helendale rural and Oro Grande lots are larger than Hesperia tract neighborhoods. Refrigerant line-set runs between condenser and air handler often exceed 50 ft. Capacity drops with line-set length. We measure actual run length and size equipment accordingly.

Lower elevation = hotter summer afternoons

At 2,500-2,700 ft, Helendale and Oro Grande run 3-5°F hotter than Hesperia (3,200 ft) and Oak Hills (3,600+ ft) on the worst summer afternoons. AC capacitors fail faster at these temperatures. We carry 25 of the most common capacitor sizes on every truck.
