Riverside summers regularly hit 100-105°F across June through September with occasional 110°F+ peaks during heat events. The cooling season runs roughly May through October. Older neighborhoods (Wood Streets, Magnolia, central Arlington) have a high concentration of homes built 1950-1990 still running R-22 refrigerant systems. R-22 is no longer manufactured. Reclaimed R-22 still works for minor recharges (typically $300-$500). Major leaks on 15+ year R-22 systems usually point toward A2L (R-454B) replacement, which qualifies for current RPU and SCE rebates ($200-$1,500 depending on tier and utility). Newer 1990s-2010s tract neighborhoods (Mission Grove, Orangecrest, Canyon Crest) typically run R-410A systems with capacitor and contactor failures dominating the call mix during July-August peak. We carry 25 of the most common capacitor sizes on every truck so most Riverside repairs are first-visit.
