Quick answer

Riverside ductwork pricing varies by scope. Sealing only (mastic on existing ducts) $400-$1,200. Return-duct upsize or single-run replacement $400-$1,500. Full duct replacement $25-$55 per linear foot. Older Wood Streets and Magnolia homes typically need 80-200 linear feet of duct work — full replacement $2,500-$8,500 depending on home layout.

Why this matters in Riverside

Ductwork in Riverside.

Riverside ductwork problems concentrate in older Wood Streets, Magnolia, and central Arlington homes where original 1950s-1970s ducts are now 50+ years old. Common issues: undersized return ducts strangling modern variable-speed blowers, deteriorated insulation losing 20-30% of conditioned air to attic, rodent contamination, and mastic-sealed joints that have failed at vibration points over decades. We measure return static pressure on every diagnostic — anything above 0.5" w.c. on the return side indicates undersized ducts and explains why a modern AC system cannot reach back rooms. Newer Mission Grove, Orangecrest, Canyon Crest tract homes (1990s+) have R-6 to R-8 insulated flex ducts that mostly hold up, though sealing failures at the supply boot connections are still common.

Local challenges

What we see on the ground.

Return-duct upsizing is the most common Riverside ductwork fix. Pre-1980 homes were sized for low-static low-SEER equipment, and modern variable-speed blowers cannot move enough air through those return paths. Adding a second return run or upsizing the existing one typically costs $400-$1,200 — usually the actual fix instead of a forced full system replacement. Full duct replacement makes sense when existing ductwork is degraded across the entire system or when rodent contamination is present. We use R-8 insulated flex on attic runs — current code minimum is R-6 but R-8 holds up better in Riverside summer attic temperatures (130-150°F). Permits pulled when scope warrants AHJ inspection.

You guys were called out to diagnose a missed diagnosis from another company another company in which said that the unit needed to be replaced because the compressor was bad. Your tech came out and was completely professional and incredibly awesome very polite and knowledge worthy.. Not only was the compressor not bad, but it was just simple wiring that had been messed up your tech fix the wiring issues and all is well. I will definitely be using you in the future and recommending you to anybody who needs heating and air conditioning repairs.

Our A/C went out on Wed 08/31at 2:00am, as you know this has been a tremendous heat wave. I called on Thursday, Joseph came out gave me an estimate, ordered the unit and had it installed on Friday. Joseph's technicians worked quickly and efficiently. In my opinion they went above and beyond to get everything installed, keep in mind this is Labor Day weekend. I can't THANK YOU enough. Pricing and financing was amazing as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my Riverside home needs ductwork?
Three signs: AC barely cools back rooms even on a working system, dust accumulation on registers within days of cleaning, and uneven temperatures between rooms. We measure return static pressure on every diagnostic — that single measurement tells us whether ducts are the actual issue.
How much does ductwork cost in Riverside?
Sealing only: $400-$1,200. Return-duct upsize: $400-$1,500. Full duct replacement: $25-$55 per linear foot ($2,500-$8,500 for typical Wood Streets or Magnolia 80-200 ft layout).
Should I seal my existing ducts or replace them?
Depends on duct condition. If existing ducts are properly sized, well-insulated, and intact, mastic sealing fixes 20-30% air loss without full replacement cost. Replacement needed when insulation is degraded, ducts are undersized for modern equipment, or rodent contamination is present.
My older Wood Streets home has tiny ducts. Can you fix that?
Yes. Pre-1980 Wood Streets homes often have undersized return ducts. We measure return static pressure during the quote and upsize or add a second return run as a separate line item. Typically $400-$1,200, often the actual fix instead of system replacement.
How much does ductwork cost in the High Desert?
Sealing-only jobs run $25-$35 per linear foot. Partial replacement (bad runs only) $35-$45. Full replacement with R-8 insulated flex $45-$55. Average HD home has 100-200 linear ft of duct, so total jobs typically $2,500-$11,000.
How do I know if my ducts need replacing?
Signs include: rooms that never reach setpoint, high summer electric bills, dust accumulation around registers, visible duct sag, and uneven temperatures between rooms. We measure static pressure and inspect with camera to confirm.
Is duct cleaning worth it?
DOE notes that routine duct cleaning rarely improves indoor air quality on its own. Worth it after rodent contamination, post-fire smoke, or major remodels that left construction dust behind. Not a substitute for a clean filter.
