Quick answer

Fontana mini-split pricing: single-zone $4,500-$7,500. 2-zone $7,500-$11,500. 3-zone $10,500-$14,500. 4-zone $13,500-$18,500. Closest IE city to our office, lowest dispatch overhead.

Why this matters in Fontana

Mini-Splits in Fontana.

Fontana mini-split work spans use cases similar to other IE cities — ADU conversions, garage-to-living, hot-room retrofits, full-home ductless conversions in older central and south Fontana homes. Hunters Ridge and Coyote Canyon master-planned homes (post-2000) more often have central HVAC working well and only need mini-splits for detached structures or back-room hot zones. South Fontana and Jurupa Hills (1950s-1970s) more often run full-home ductless conversions because existing duct work is past replacement age and ductless avoids duct redesign entirely. Heat pump mode performs well at Fontana 1,240 ft bench elevation — mild winter overnight lows in the high 30s with rare drops below 35°F are well within mini-split heat pump operating range.

Local challenges

What we see on the ground.

Cajon Pass wind exposure affects mini-split outdoor unit placement in north Fontana. We recommend wall-shielded or recessed mounting where lot orientation allows. Coil cleaning service agreements recommended for installs along the I-15 corridor. Multi-zone Manual J load calc done per zone — heat load and cooling load can differ across zones, and per-zone right-sizing matters more on mini-split systems than ducted systems because there is no shared blower to even out zone differences. Line-set routing in 1950s-1970s south Fontana homes often goes along exterior walls covered with line-set covers because crawlspace and attic access is tight.

Our air conditioning unit went out in the middle of this heat wave. We were able to get a quote right away. My husband has health problems and they were amazing ordering a new unit and getting it installed. Joseph and his team worked so well, so efficiently and also went above and beyond to get everything installed. Great pricing also. We definitely will support them and recommend them.

This is how a company should be ran. From customer service(phone call) when I set an appointment up to the gentleman who came out to service my mini split system. I can't thank them enough for how easy and quickly it was to get everything done. Will be calling them again soon. Everyone who is waiting 3 to 4 weeks for service should really give them a call.

Joe and his team were great. They were professional, did a thorough job, installed a 2-ton mini-split, worked around the quirks of my home, were polite, punctual, and cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely recommend Joe and his team for any HVAC issues. I look forward to working with them again soon.

This business is the best! You will not be disappointed. He checked my heating n air system in Bonsall, the reason not working, my breaker was off. And thus found out why my washer n dryer was not working I was able to cancel the order of new washer n dryer, he turned on the breakers . He checked all vents. He alerted me , I needed a filter for the 1 large intake vent. The system is in the attic, everything great, gave me how old system is. Also lastly checked the system outside that changes from heat to air conditioning. (Heat Pump). Thank you JC ENERGY SOL. PS THEY INSTALLED IN MY VALLEY CENTER HOME A SPILT SYSTEM , I LOVE IT!!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does mini-split install cost in Fontana?
Single-zone $4,500-$7,500. 2-zone $7,500-$11,500. 3-zone $10,500-$14,500. 4-zone $13,500-$18,500. SCE heat pump rebates of $300-$1,500 apply.
My south Fontana home has bad ducts. Should I go full-home ductless?
Often a clean fit. Full-home multi-zone mini-split conversion (3-4 zones) typically $13,500-$18,500. Avoids duct redesign entirely. SCE heat pump rebates apply.
I am converting my Fontana garage to an ADU. Can I add a mini-split?
Yes. Garage-to-ADU mini-split installs handled regularly. Single-zone setup $4,500-$7,500.
My Fontana home has wind exposure. Are mini-split outdoor units OK?
Yes with proper placement. We recommend wall-shielded or recessed mounting where lot orientation allows. Coil cleaning service agreements recommended for heavily exposed installs.
How much does a mini-split cost in the High Desert?
Single-zone systems start at $2,000-$3,200 for smaller rooms (9-12k BTU) and $3,200-$4,500 for larger spaces (18-24k BTU). Multi-zone systems with 2-4 heads on one outdoor unit run $5,500-$12,000.
Will a mini-split heat my room in winter?
Yes. Modern cold-climate variable-speed mini-splits (Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat, Daikin Aurora) maintain heating capacity down to 5°F. High Desert overnight lows are typically warmer than that.
Do I need ductwork?
No. That is the entire point of a mini-split. Refrigerant runs from the outdoor unit through a small line set to each indoor head. Only a 3-inch hole in the wall needed.
