Quick answer

Rialto mini-split install runs $2,000-$4,500 per zone. Multi-zone systems run $5,500-$13,000 total. SCE heat pump rebates of $300-$1,500 on qualifying SEER2 tiers, citywide. Foothill Boulevard light commercial mini-split installs handled out of the same dispatch.

Why this matters in Rialto

Mini-Splits in Rialto.

Rialto mini-split work covers garage conversions, hot-room solutions, AC-only retrofits in older central Rialto homes that originally had only a gas furnace, and whole-home multi-zone retrofits replacing aging central AC. The 1960s-2000s tract construction means a wide range of home ages and HVAC starting points. Older central Rialto homes built 1960s-1980s often have a working furnace and either no AC or a failing 1990s add-on AC. Mini-splits add cooling without disrupting the heating side. Foothill Boulevard light commercial mini-split installs are also a steady stream — small offices, retail back rooms, and break rooms where central HVAC cannot reach effectively. Most installs use standard SEER2 14-16 equipment given the mild Rialto climate.

Local challenges

What we see on the ground.

Pre-1980 central Rialto homes occasionally need panel upgrades for multi-zone mini-split installs. 100A panels run out of headroom when adding multiple outdoor units. Panel upgrade adds $1,500-$3,000. We measure during the quote walkthrough. Newer North Rialto subdivisions usually have 200A panels already. SCE territory is uniform citywide. Foothill Boulevard light commercial installs scheduled for evenings or weekends to avoid business disruption — small businesses cannot afford the noise and disruption of daytime install work. Line set hide covers used on every exterior run.

You guys were called out to diagnose a missed diagnosis from another company another company in which said that the unit needed to be replaced because the compressor was bad. Your tech came out and was completely professional and incredibly awesome very polite and knowledge worthy.. Not only was the compressor not bad, but it was just simple wiring that had been messed up your tech fix the wiring issues and all is well. I will definitely be using you in the future and recommending you to anybody who needs heating and air conditioning repairs.

Our A/C went out on Wed 08/31at 2:00am, as you know this has been a tremendous heat wave. I called on Thursday, Joseph came out gave me an estimate, ordered the unit and had it installed on Friday. Joseph's technicians worked quickly and efficiently. In my opinion they went above and beyond to get everything installed, keep in mind this is Labor Day weekend. I can't THANK YOU enough. Pricing and financing was amazing as well.

AC went out Monday. Called JC Energy Solutions and spoke with someone right away. They scheduled me for first thing the next day. The techs were on time, friendly, and professional. They diagnosed and repaired the issue fairly quickly without any problems. Unfortunately, the next day, an identical issue represented itself. Although the issue looked the same, it was a different cause. As someone who’s worked in auto repair, home improvement, and customer service in general, I know these things can happen. What sets JCES apart is how they handle them. They were empathetic and apologetic that there was still an issue. They got one of their top guys to come back out first thing the next day and gave a credit for missing one of the causes. They replaced the part no problem and double checked everything was good to go. If you need responsive, professional, friendly, and great value service, I 10/10 recommend JCES!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a mini-split cost installed in Rialto?
Single-zone $2,000-$4,500. Multi-zone (2-4 heads) $5,500-$13,000 total. Add $1,500-$3,000 if older central Rialto home needs panel upgrade. SCE rebates of $300-$1,500 offset part of the cost.
My older central Rialto home has a furnace but no AC. Can mini-splits add cooling?
Yes — common Rialto install pattern. Mini-splits add AC without disrupting the existing furnace. Single-zone $2,500-$3,500. Multi-zone whole-home cooling $5,500-$11,000.
Do you handle Foothill Boulevard commercial mini-split installs in Rialto?
Yes. Small office, retail, and break-room mini-split installs along Foothill Blvd. Same Hesperia dispatch as residential. Work scheduled for evenings or weekends to avoid business disruption.
Will I need a panel upgrade for a multi-zone mini-split in my Rialto home?
Possibly for pre-1980 central Rialto homes with 100A service. Newer North Rialto subdivisions usually have 200A panels already. Panel upgrade adds $1,500-$3,000. We measure during the quote walkthrough.
How much does a mini-split cost in the High Desert?
Single-zone systems start at $2,000-$3,200 for smaller rooms (9-12k BTU) and $3,200-$4,500 for larger spaces (18-24k BTU). Multi-zone systems with 2-4 heads on one outdoor unit run $5,500-$12,000.
Will a mini-split heat my room in winter?
Yes. Modern cold-climate variable-speed mini-splits (Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat, Daikin Aurora) maintain heating capacity down to 5°F. High Desert overnight lows are typically warmer than that.
Do I need ductwork?
No. That is the entire point of a mini-split. Refrigerant runs from the outdoor unit through a small line set to each indoor head. Only a 3-inch hole in the wall needed.
